Daily storms continue across most of New Mexico
Isolated flash flooding possible again on Sunday
Daily rain chances continue Sunday, though many locations may miss out due to the spotty nature of these storms. We’ll start sunny and dry through lunchtime in Albuquerque with afternoon storms developing. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the northern end of the Sacramento Mountains. Saturated ground in the Ruidoso area from heavy rain and flash flooding that occurred earlier in the week will lead to rapid runoff as additional storms develop on Sunday afternoon. Highs across the Albuquerque metro top out right around average at 91 degrees; and 84 in Santa Fe. With plenty of monsoon moisture to tap into, we could see storm cells with rainfall rates over 1.5 inches per hour Sunday and Monday. Highs will continue to climb above average through the middle of the week with the hottest temperatures arriving Friday and Saturday.
