The first weekend of the College Football Playoff is complete and we’ve narrowed the number of teams still alive for a national title from 12 to eight.
No. 8 Alabama kicked off the first-round weekend Friday with a bang, erasing a 17-0 deficit to stun No. 9 Oklahoma 34-24. The first road win in College Football Playoff history earned the Crimson Tide a date with No. 1 Indiana in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day.
No. 10 Miami kept things rolling for the road teams Saturday with a 10-3 win over Texas A&M. The Hurricanes kept the Aggies out of the end zone and fittingly sealed the game with a last-minute interception to earn a matchup with No. 2 Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl.
That’s where the road teams’ luck ran out. Ole Miss throttled American champion Tulane for the second time this season, cruising to a 41-10 victory that got the Pete Golding era off to a shining start.
The nightcap followed a similar script, as Oregon ran roughshod on offense in a 51-34 win over James Madison. The Ducks scored on their first five possessions and never looked back.
Ole Miss will draw a rematch with Georgia in the Sugar Bowl — the lone team to beat the Rebels during the regular season. Oregon will face Texas Tech in the Orange Bowl in a matchup featuring two of college football’s “new money” programs.
Below, you’ll find all the viewing information for every game, from the four first-round games played on campus to the CFP National Championship.
