
The city recognized a three-person crew from the solid waste department last week for acting fast and saving the life of a man having a heart attack.The men were headed to a recycling center when they came upon a person who was prone and still.”He was unconscious on the ground,” said crew member Dante Roland. “I was trying to wake him when Greg pulled up. I told him ‘this guy is unconscious, call 911,’ and he started working on the guy, giving him chest compressions.”Crew member Trumaine Roland said we should all hope that if a loved one was having a medical emergency like that, somebody would be there who knew just what to do.”You know, somebody to help your family member — brother, sister, mother, father — the same way we helped him,” Roland said. Mayor Keller thanked the men and presented each of them with a certificate and a pin.
