A massive lineup of stars have signed on to play at Alan Jackson‘s final show this weekend, and that’s a credit to how he’s conducted his career over the years.
For years, Jackson has been known for his kindness in the music industry. Chris Young recently shared an example while he was an in-studio guest on Taste of Country Nights, detailing the thoughtful end-of-tour gift Jackson got him back in 2010.
That year, Young was a fresh-faced country artist who opened up Jack’s Freight Train Tour alongside Josh Turner.
“He was one of the first tours I was ever on. You know, I’m super green, don’t know what I’m doing and I got asked to be on tour with Alan Jackson and I’m freaking out,” he recounts.

Chris Young said that Alan Jackson got him “a signed bottle of Jack Daniels, like from the master distiller, and then he signed it. I’m like, ‘I’m never gonna open this.'”
There are several versions of master distiller-signed bottles of Jack, most being hard to find and going for well over $1,000.
It is dang near impossible to score a rare bottle of Jack Daniel that has been personally signed by the master distiller… unless you’re Alan Jackson, of course. And a bottle that’s been signed by both the master distiller and Alan Jackson? Well, that might be one of a kind.

While some artists throw an envelope of cash to their openers at the end of a tour, Jackson took some time and gave some thought to getting a young Young a gift that he will never forget.
What Did Chris Young Get Alan Jackson At the End of The Freight Train Tour?
At the end of the Jackson tour that Young go to be on in 2010, he was faced with the dilemma of what to get Jackson in return as a thank you for inviting him to be his opener.
Young admitted to me “I was like ‘What can I get Alan? There’s nothing I can get him that he can’t get himself.’ They were like ‘Well, he loves Jack Daniel.’ I was like ‘He got me a bottle of Jack Daniel, signed by the master distiller,’ and I was like ‘I don’t have a lot of money, so I’m gonna get him two [unsigned bottles.]'”
Then came the time for Young to give his gift to Jackson. He stepped onto his luxurious tour bus and told Jackson, “‘They said this is what you liked, man, I just got you two. I can’t get you a master distiller bottle.’ He goes ‘Well… I like those.'”

Their 5-bedroom, 8-bathroom, 22,012-square-foot estate in the same Nashville suburb of Franklin features bedrooms that are all well-appointed suites, while the formal dining and living areas are finished off with splendid arched doorways, oversized windows and elaborate woodwork. The residence also includes a bar, a media room and multiple indoor and outdoor fireplaces. It sold for $19 million in March of 2021.
