Charley Crockett shared a couple of posts explaining his decision to remove indie rock band Twin Temple from two tour dates this week.
He took a stand against the Satanic imagery the duo are known for, and said it was his prerogative as a headliner to remove any opening act, any time he saw fit.

Crockett also seemed pretty exasperated by the hypocrisy and exploitation that comes along with stardom, and said he’s received more threats of “violence” over the Twin Temple backlash than he ever did when he was beefing with Gavin Adcock and Morgan Wallen.
A popular point from the comments section on those posts is that Crockett has been following Twin Temple for a while now — likes from him on their Instagram posts date back at least several months. So some fans are confused as to why he’s just now decided to take issue with their Satanic inclinations.
Why Did Charley Crockett Remove “Satanic” Rock Duo Twin Temple From His Tour?
- Last week, L.A. rock duo Twin Temple said Crockett nixed two appearances they were planning to make as opening acts on his Age of the Ram Tour in July.
- The band claimed that the decision was because of the “Satanic imagery” they use in their show.
- They said they were disappointed to not be on the bill, especially because of “what it meant as far as bringing different types of people and music lovers together.”
The next day, Crockett responded with his own statement about why the show wasn’t going on as scheduled.
“F–K TRUMP, F–K EPSTEIN BUT HAIL SATAN? NOT ME JACK,” the singer wrote, alongside a photo of himself posing in a railroad yard. Presumably, Crockett was referring to the fact that he’s spoken out against Pres. Donald Trump in the past.

That post was deleted, reposted and deleted again on Instagram; it’s still live on Facebook as of Monday (July 13.) And it was the start of a series of strongly-worded, but still arguably kind of unclear, comments and posts from Crockett about the situation.
In a comment on his initial post, Crockett added, “This ain’t got nothin’ to do with Twin Temple really. It’s about all the hypocrisy out there.”
“The Creator gave us free will. But with free will comes the burden of choice. You have rights, and so do I. I’m standing on mine,” he added.
Later that same day, another post arrived: And this time, Crockett focused on the backlash he was getting for parting ways with Twin Temple. “I won’t conform and I’m not sorry,” he wrote.
“I might wake up at 1PM on the back of that bus and find out that the opener ain’t working for me that night. Tough luck. Life is hard. This ain’t no temp agency,” Crockett continued. “…S–t you might get a life changing gig just by standing next to me. That’s magic.”
What Did Charley Crockett Say About the Entertainment Industry?
He had sharp criticism for the entertainment industry too, saying the further he’s come up in it, the more “shameless exhibitionists” he’s been “betrayed” by.
“I love what I do and I’m grateful for the privilege every minute, and if everybody disappears I’ll go back to the street corner where I started. Hell sometimes I dream about it,” the singer admitted.
It also seemed like the backlash of the Twin Temple cancellation was getting to him.
Charley Crockett Says Twin Temple Backlash Brought More Threats of “Violence” Than His Beef With Gavin Adcock and Morgan Wallen
In a comment on one of his since-deleted Instagram posts, Crockett responded to a fan who called his statements “corny” and thought he should have announced the removal of Twin Temple from his shows with a little more grace.

Crockett replied that he didn’t think he should apologize when “all I did was ask an opening band to drop 2 shows they’re being paid for.”
He also said that the backlash has been even wilder than back when he was feuding with Gavin Adcock, and tangentially, Morgan Wallen. That all went down last September, when Acock and Crockett butted heads online over whether Beyoncé is or isn’t country. Wallen caught a stray when Crockett posted that the “#1 country artist on Earth listens to nothing but rap. Openly says he doesn’t really know any country music. Gotta respect his honesty.”

Wallen rebutted during a tour date that Adcock was opening, when Adcock approached him with a Charley Crockett T-shirt and Wallen held up two middle fingers.
Wallen’s a huge star with a huge fan army, but Crockett says that backlash pales in comparison to what he’s going through now.
“You know what’s really crazy?” Crockett commented. “For all the drama I got into with Wallen and Beyoncé and Adcock, I never had so much violence threatened against me.”
Country Music’s Current Feuds and Beefs [UPDATED]
The difference between a true country music feud and one country singer being a punk is the response. Each of these active feuds has involved a significant back and forth between two country artists or more.
A few singers are involved in multiple feuds while others involve unexpected or unknown singers. We’ll update this list as the pairs make peace or if another fight emerges.
