CHAINED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN Stay Miserable On New Single “An Adornment Of Light”

Date:

For nearly a decade, Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean have been forging a grim, hellbent sound at the crossroads of sludge and doom metal. Following their 2024 release Sisyphean Cruelty, the Massachusetts-based band return with their latest album, Let Us Not Speak Of Them But Look And Pass On, arriving February 20, 2026, via Redscroll Records.

Recorded and mixed by Seth Manchester at Machines with Magnets, the album spans four tracks and 28 minutes, delivering a relentless journey through anguished vocals, punishing riffs, and towering percussion. Improvised passages set a tone that swings between haunting and uneasy, keeping listeners in a constant state of tension.

The album’s first single, “An Adornment of Light,” drops today, offering a seven-minute masterclass in the band’s crushing aesthetic. Built on themes of revenge, the track evolves from feedback-laden atmospherics and clashing cymbals into guttural vocals and deep-seated guitar work. It’s miserable and really fits the overall mood of… everything right now.
