BEYOND CREATION Return With First New Song In Eight Years, “Reverence”

Date:

Montreal-based technical death metal innovators Beyond Creation are back with their first new music in eight years. Ahead of their fifteenth anniversary tour celebrating The Aura, the band released “Reverence,” a track that fuses crushing brutality with introspective progressive flair.

“Our new single explores the fragile line between clarity and illusion, between introspection and insanity, where the search for meaning can either elevate us or consume us,” says vocalist, guitarist, and lyricist Simon Girard.

“But the truth is simple and powerful: the moment you stop comparing and start focusing on who you truly are and what you genuinely want to express, something beautiful happens. You create from a place of honesty. You grow with purpose. What you achieve becomes something you can be proud of, because it is unique, real and entirely your own.”

Musically, “Reverence” opens with uninhibited interplay between Girard and guitarist Kevin Chartré, showcasing the chemistry that comes from more than 15 years of collaboration. Yet, the song’s tension mirrors the mental pressures the band confronts.

“Thrown into a sea of endless thoughts,” Girard screams as crushing riffs illustrate a “quiet war within my core,” a metaphor for battling external expectations and social media-induced comparison.

Beyond Creation‘s rhythm section, anchored by drummer Philippe Boucher and bassist Hugo Doyon-Karout, guides the track. Boucher‘s commanding cymbals and snare lead the way, while Doyon-Karout‘s mind-bending bass runs lift the song toward a transcendent finale.

The band’s message is clear: breaking free from comparison and doubt allows creativity to flourish. “Once we stop with the comparisons, we free ourselves to grow,” Girard concludes. “We flourish in ways we never thought possible.”

The official video for “Reverence” was directed and produced by Francois Bertrand alongside Simon Girard.
