ARCH ENEMY Appears To Have Reunited With Ex-Vocalist ANGELA GOSSOW

Date:

The metal world may be witnessing a full-circle moment. Swedish melodic death metal heavyweights Arch Enemy have ignited reunion speculation with former frontwoman Angela Gossow, just months after announcing the departure of longtime vocalist Alissa White-Gluz.

On 23 November 2025, Arch Enemy confirmed they had parted ways with White-Gluz after 12 years at the helm. “After 12 years in Arch Enemy, we have parted ways,” she wrote in a statement. “I am forever thankful to the thousands of amazing fans I have met along the way.”

White-Gluz had joined the band in 2014, stepping into formidable shoes after Gossow announced her own departure in March of that year. At the time, Gossow framed the decision as a personal one. “While I have enjoyed my time with the group, it is time for me to move on, be with my family and pursue other interests,” she wrote.

Importantly, Gossow confirmed she would remain the band’s business manager and personally endorsed her successor, saying she was “passing the torch to the super talented Alissa White-Gluz, whom I’ve known as a dear friend and a superb vocalist for many years. I always thought she deserved a chance to shine – and now she’s getting it. Just like I got that chance back in 2001.”

Now, more than a decade later, the torch may be changing hands again. Fans began connecting the dots this week after both Arch Enemy and Gossow posted the same cryptic teaser to their Instagram accounts.

Adding fuel to the fire, both parties simultaneously blacked out their profile pictures — a classic social media move that rarely signals subtlety. While no official statement has confirmed Gossow‘s return as vocalist, the synchronized rollout has sent speculation into overdrive.

Interestingly, Gossow had already hinted at unfinished business years ago. In 2018, following the touring cycle for Will to Power, she expressed interest in launching a new extreme metal project, explaining: “Yes, I want to make a new extreme metal project, but this will happen after Arch Enemy and work with Alissa [White-Gluz] will be concluded and the whole world will sail in calmer waters. I suppose this will be in 2018, when we concluded the first series of tours and all the rest. I will do so when the time comes.”

So we’ll see what happens, but I’m guessing it’s Gossow Enemy 2.0 in 2026. She’s been their manager for years, she knows the songs, the fans like her – who better for Arch Enemy to choose?
