APS enrollment decline forces school closures in New Mexico

Fewer students are leading to more school closures across New Mexico.
According to The Journal, Voz Collegiate Preparatory School and Holy Ghost Catholic School will not reopen.
The Equip Academy was also said to have closed before opening to students, all due to low enrollment.
APS also expects to lose another 1,500 students this year, continuing a decades long decline that forces district to adjust staffing and operations.
The superintendent blames the decline in birth rates and says the loss will not affect funding this year.
