Another hot summer weekend with highs trending well above average
Afternoon and evening storm chances favor the mountains.
The weekend is here! After a mild start on Saturday, we’re headed for another hot summer day with highs trending well above average.
Albuquerque should top out around 97 degrees Saturday afternoon, while Santa Fe pushes 91. As clouds increase Saturday night, there is a slight chance a few locations could see a spot shower or isolated thunderstorms.
Go ahead with your outdoor plans as drier air settles in. There are chances for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly across the western and northern mountains on Sunday afternoon.
Heat risk stays high across northern and central New Mexico where many locations could reach the 90s and low 100s. Much of the state will be near record highs both Saturday and Sunday. It’s always a good idea to limit your time outdoors, take breaks, and stay hydrated in the summer heat.
