Law enforcement across New Mexico were honored Wednesday at the annual law enforcement memorial ceremony.The ceremony was to honor those and reflect on the men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Today’s event kicked off at Civic Plaza, where city Officials, first responders, and law enforcement spoke about the sacrifices many make when they take the oath to serve and protect communities across New Mexico. “The people we honor dedicated their lives to protecting others and bringing calm in moments where there was chaos,” said Raul Bujanda, public safety executive director of the city of Albuquerque. With just a few days before Memorial Day, Wednesday’s service is a tribute to fallen officers and recognizes the sacrifices made by these first responders and their families.
