Albuquerque mayor accepts City Council president’s softball challenge

Albuquerque City Council President Klarissa Peña challenged Mayor Tim Keller on Friday to a friendly softball game at Isotopes Park.
The mayor accepted the challenge by the end of the day.
Rather than having their offices compete, Peña and Keller will act as team captains and choose their players from a hat.
The teams will be made up of city councilors, mayoral staff, and City Council staff, said Peña, who represents District 3 in southwest Albuquerque.
“Challenge accepted. This is our chance to swing for the fences and win together. No matter what, this will be a home run for teamwork across the city,” Keller said.
A date has yet to be announced.
