AI Is Already Being Used in Country Music

Date:

Whether you like it or not, artificial intelligence (A.I.) is all around us, and even currently being used behind the scenes of country music.

Think AI Isn’t Currently Used in Country Music? Think Again

Niko Moon was a guest on The Bobbycast where he kind of told a small secret of what goes on behind the scenes of some of your favorite country tunes that you likely hear on the radio.

“I’m hearing that here in town with songs that are being pitched to artists one of the guys in the room will sing the demo and then they’ll transfer it into Jelly Roll, or whoever or Morgan’s [Wallen] voice so that when they hear that song pitched to them, they’re actually hearing themselves,” Moon reveals.

How AI Has Infiltrated Country Music

Moon explained that by using AI to turn the demo singer’s voice to the singer’s voice, it helps make that artist’s decision a little easier because they can instantly hear if they think they should be singing on that song or if it’s not the right fit for them.

He expanded on that by saying, “Probably make better choices on songs you want to cut.”

Country Artists Have to Stay True to Themselves

One thing we might have to worry about is if the artist that hears their AI voice on a song and then tries to record that song and they don’t sound as good as their AI selves, they could easily just leave their artificial voice there and call it a day.

After all, last November, the No. 1 Digital Song Sales hit in country music was an AI act called Breaking Rust.

Only time will tell if the artists that make today’s country will adapt to this technology while wearing white gloves and being gentle and careful with the craft, or if an artist will go all-in on keeping their fake voice on a whole song and not tell anyone.
