AFR responds to structure fire in NW

On Dec. 11, AFR responded to reports of a structure fire at 5504 Sweetwater Drive NW, involving a single-story, single-family residential home.When units arrived on scene, they located a backyard working fire, with smoke and flames showing from the rear exterior of the residence. Crews identified a covered porch on fire, with flames extending into the main structure.Through a primary search, officials confirmed that all individuals who were at the home during the incident had self-evacuated prior to Albuquerque Fire Rescue arrival. Four residents were displaced as a result of the fire.There were no civilian injuries and no firefighter injuries reported.The cause of the fire is still under investigation but is believed to be accidental.
