AFR rescues injured hiker on Michael Emery Trailhead

On Aug. 21, around 8 a.m. AFR was dispatched to the Michael Emery trailhead for reports of an injured hiker.
Crews drove up the trail and hiked the rest of the way to make patient contact. They made contact with the hiker about halfway up the trail.
The patient was evaluated and packaged for the hike out on a wheeled stokes basket. The hiker was brought to the trailhead, and care was transferred to Albuquerque Ambulance for transport to the hospital.
The status of the victim’s condition was not given.
