AFR reports record response numbers in 2026

Albuquerque Fire Rescue has reported a busy year so far, with officials reporting record response numbers.
According to the department, through July, AFR responded to 207 structure fires and 5,735 outside fires.
They also responded to 385 vegetation/wildland fires and 421 vehicle fires.
Officials say all numbers are higher than last year except vegetation fires, which are down slightly.
