Cool mornings and warm afternoons continue into the weekend. Afternoon and evening breezes could impact some events at Balloon Fiesta Friday and Saturday. Spotty showers and thunderstorms will continue to favor northern and western New Mexico Wednesday and Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will remain slightly warmer than average through the weekend.
Looking ahead into early next week, a powerful storm system will draw tropical moisture into New Mexico from two tropical systems. Expect increasing rain and thundershowers across the state with some locally heavy rainfall and flooding threats. Snow could also fall over the higher peaks of the Northern Mountains. Breezy to windy conditions sweep in too. And…temperatures will be cool down as well.
