Police determined that the 22-year-old driver of a BMW ran a stop sign when another car plowed into hers; she ultimately died of her injuries

A 22-year-old driver died Saturday night after apparently running a stop sign and smashing into another car in Albuquerque’s West Side.

Police responded to a crash at 9:30 p.m. in the Westgate Heights area of 98th and Amole Mesa Ave SW.

Investigators determined that a red Honda traveling southbound on 98th St at Amole Mesa Ave SW plowed into the driver’s side of a blue BMW that ran a stop sign going east to northbound 98th.

The driver of the BMW was transported to the hospital, where medical personnel pronounced her dead.
