Rams’ Puka Nacua again misses practice, questionable for MNF

Date:

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua will not practice for the second day in a row due to “a little bit of soreness” in his groin and will be listed as questionable for Monday night’s game against the New York Giants, coach Sean McVay said.

“[We are] being smart with him as a skill player,” McVay said Saturday. “Whether or not he plays is to be determined. And so we’ll see how he’s feeling, but he won’t practice [Saturday].”

McVay said Nacua’s injury is separate from the psoas injury that caused him to miss time during training camp.

Nacua practiced Thursday, McVay said, but he “didn’t feel totally like himself [with] his ability to be able to kind of open up and really hit full speed.” He was listed on the injury report Friday with a hip injury.

McVay also said wide receiver Jordan Whittington, who was added to the injury report Friday, will be listed as doubtful for the game with a quad injury.

The Rams are expecting Aaron Donald to play Monday night in what would be his first game since coming out of retirement after two seasons. When asked Friday if he’d play, Donald said “that’s the plan.”

“If he said it, he’s going,” McVay said Saturday. “Whatever Aaron says, I support him.”
