Albuquerque seeks volunteers for cleanup ahead of Balloon Fiesta

With Balloon Fiesta around the corner, the city of Albuquerque Solid Waste Management Department and Keep Albuquerque Beautiful are calling on residents to help get the city ready.
The annual Fiesta Fanatics cleanup will return Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Balloon Fiesta Park and neighborhoods across the city.
The event brings volunteers together across Albuquerque to pick up litter, beautify neighborhoods, and help the city shine ahead of the 54th Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
Residents can volunteer to be part of the mass cleanup and prep work at Balloon Fiesta Park or they can choose to organize a cleanup in their own neighborhoods.
Volunteers will be provided with trash bags, litter pickers, gloves and safety vests. Groups organizing neighborhood cleanups will also get a free pickup for all collected trash.

Those interested in neighborhood cleanup must sign up before Sept. 18.
