Albuquerque celebrates improvements at Grant Middle School Park
A $359,000 city-county investment replaced aging infrastructure and doubled the playground equipment available to children ages 2 to 12.

Albuquerque unveiled playground improvements at Grant Middle School Park on Sunday morning.
The $359,000 investment, split between the city and Bernalillo County, replaced aging park infrastructure with new furnishings designed to serve middle school students.
The city said the upgrades have doubled the amount of playground materials available at the public park, which sits adjacent to the middle school of the same name.
The improvements aimed to make the park functional during and after the school day.
“We only had about half the amount of play equipment that we do today,” Parks and Recreation Director Dave Simon told KOAT 7.
“So now the playground serves children from the ages of 2 all the way up to 12,” Simon said.
