Pedestrian critically injured after vehicle dispute on Louisiana Blvd.

The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating reports of a vehicle and pedestrian crash that occurred near the area of I-40 and Louisiana Boulevard NE.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Lomas Boulevard NW and Louisiana Boulevard NW around 6:30 p.m. in response to reports of a vehicle and pedestrian crash. It was reported that the pedestrian was possibly dragged by a vehicle.

At approximately the same time as the crash, reports of a dispute between a pedestrian in the area and occupants of a vehicle were reported near the Interstate 40 off-ramp and Louisiana Boulevard NE. It was learned that the two incidents were related.

An individual has been transported to a local hospital, where they are currently listed in critical condition.

Officers say an individual is detained at this time.

Detectives with APD’s Impact Unit are en route to investigate the incident further.

An update will be provided when more information is learned and confirmed.
