Man facing charges for shooting a bear

The man who shot a bear in Northeast Albuquerque is facing charges.

Brandon Mead told police he had been dealing with a mother bear and her two cubs for weeks.

Mead’s dog approached the bear while in the backyard, so he fired the rifle at the mother bear, according to court documents.

Mead is now being charged with negligent use of a deadly weapon.
