Hot with a chance for storms

Temperatures averaging a few degrees warmer normal through the weekend and into next week. Expect highs right around 90° for Albuquerque. The average high is 86°. High pressure will remain east of New Mexico through the weekend, allowing for a continued flow of monsoon moisture into the state.
Showers and thunderstorms will be increasing over central and western New Mexico Thursday and Friday. Pockets of heavy rainfall and localized flooding remain possible. Rain chances focus over western New Mexico for the weekend into early next week.
Looking ahead to Zozobra on Friday in Santa Fe, temperatures will be warm during the day and cool off quickly in the evening. There will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms as well. Zozobra burns whether it’s wet or dry.
