Mom calling contest delights crowd at Iowa State Fair
Young Iowans lined up for their turn to belt out their best call in the annual mom calling contest at the Iowa State Fair.
It’s likely a callout that parents are all too familiar with: Lots of “MOOOOOMS” were amplified around the Iowa State Fair’s Pioneer Hall.
First place went to 8-year-old Vivien Sullivan from Ankeny, with her state fair-inspired call.
“Mom, Mom! We’re going to be late for the Iowa State Fair! Hurry,” Vivien belted.
She took home a blue ribbon and $5.
The Iowa State Fair is home to other calling events, including the husband calling contest and the chicken calling contest.
