SANTA FE COUNTY, N.M.

Increased activity on the Frijoles Fire has prompted Santa Fe County Fire officials to place the communities of Cundiyo and Cerro Piñon in READY status.

The Frijoles Fire has burned about 500 acres so far, with zero percent containment. The public has been asked to avoid the area of the fire, along with the Santa Cruz Overlook Road and Campground. NM-503 is closed between County Road 98 and State Road 76.

There are no mandatory evacuation orders at the moment, but residents are advised to be prepared in the event that conditions change.
