Man arrested after kids report indecent exposure while going to school in Alamogordo
ALAMOGORDO, N.M. —
A man in Alamogordo was arrested after two students reported he was exposing himself while they were walking to school in April 2026.
The Alamogordo Police Department says while two students were walking to school, in April, they had seen a man exposing himself from the front door of a house on College Avenue. The students reported that to the school resource officer.
Following the report, detectives were notified and began investigating. Police officers and detectives watched the home for a few days and found consistent behavior from a person who matched the description the students gave of the man.
Police identified that man as Darrell Johnson.
Police say they were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Johnson and took him into custody on August 5.
Johnson was booked into the Otero County Detention Center and charged with two counts of aggravated indecent exposure of a minor.
