Heat advisory for western New Mexico, storm chances likely across central and eastern regions.

A heat advisory will continue affect western New Mexico through this evening, while scattered thunderstorms may pop up over central and eastern parts of the state.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.

A heat advisory remains in effect for several western New Mexico counties until 8 pm tonight. Storm chances may also be possible across central and eastern New Mexico. Yesterday’s winds ushered in a slightly cooler front for much of the state, but that won’t last long — we’re poised to see record-breaking highs across the west and north tomorrow. Albuquerque will likely hit 100° again one or more times next week. Tonight’s low in Albuquerque is 70 degrees; 64 degrees in Santa Fe. Tomorrow’s high in Albuquerque is 101 degrees; 96 degrees in Santa Fe.
