The man who caused Fort Sumner to go on lockdown after shooting at State Police and hiding out in a family’s shed has entered a guilty plea in the case.
Jovan Martinez admitted to carjacking a couple at gunpoint. He fled the scene with his suspected accomplice Makaela Johnson who had a warrant out for her arrest at the time.
Martinez will spend 12 years behind bars.
Johnson is expected to go on trial on September 14.
