Blake Shelton cleaned up nicely — very nicely — for his date with Gwen Stefani to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary earlier in July.
In fact, the couple looked so dapper that some fans are wondering if their anniversary date destination was Taylor Swift‘s star-packed wedding to Travis Kelce. (We’ll get to the other reasons behind those rumors in a minute).
The singer wore a crisp suit, complete with cuffs and a bowtie, as he and Stefani headed out on the town together.
Stefani shared a video recap of the evening, and she included a couple of shots of Shelton’s complete look, though she joked at one point in the video that he “will not let me take any pictures of him.”
But of course, the star of the show was Stefani — and the stunning dress she chose for the occasion.

Gwen Stefani rocked a floral, dusty pink Yara Shoemaker dress with a frilly high-neck collar and shimmering rose details.
She posed and twirled for a couple of shots in her recap video, putting a spotlight on the other details of the outfit too, including her designer purse and shoes.

Stefani is generally more glam-forward than her country star husband, but still, they seemed to be getting especially gussied up for their 5th wedding anniversary.
Past anniversary posts from the couple have typically involved throwback photos from their wedding day. They don’t usually talk about what they’re doing to celebrate the anniversary of the date.
Which leads us to the fan theories…

It’s not at all far-fetched to imagine that Shelton and Stefani would have been invited. In fact, given the superstar guest list, we’d be a little surprised if they weren’t.
Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Kelsea Ballerini and Miranda Lambert were all among the attendees who flocked to Madison Square Garden for Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce on July 3.
And that’s just the country faction. Stars from across the music industry — and the entertainment industry more generally — have been confirmed to have attended the nuptials.
So really, a wedding invite for Shelton and Stefani could easily have arrived for either or both members of the couple.

Swift and Shelton aren’t especially connected, but they do have ties to each other: Swift appeared as a guest mentor on The Voice twice, and she met both Shelton and Stefani as coaches while she was there.
Fans also pointed out that, according to the buildings outside the windows of their anniversary video, it looks like Shelton and Stefani might have been in New York City.
That, of course, is where Swift and Kelce got married. Shelton and Stefani live in Oklahoma, and they’re frequently found in Nashville and L.A., too. But New York isn’t really one of their usual stomping grounds.

If the couple were invited to the big wedding, it would have made sense for them to double the event as an anniversary celebration. Shelton and Stefani got married on July 3, 2021. Five years later, in 2026, Swift and Kelce got married on the exact same day.
But maybe the most compelling evidence that the rumors are right is what Stefani didn’t show in her recap video.
There were lots of clips of them getting ready, riding in the car and leaving to go home — but nothing from their anniversary celebration itself! That seems a little strange, unless, of course, you’re attending a high-profile ceremony with a no-phone, no-camera policy.
Neither Shelton or Stefani have responded to the speculation that their anniversary date was Swift and Kelce’s wedding.
When Did Blake Shelton + Gwen Stefani Get Married?
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani got married on July 3, 2021, in a chapel specially built on their Oklahoma property. It was the same location where Shelton proposed the year beforehand.
Stefani’s three sons, Gavin, Kingston and Apollo, were heavily involved in the ceremony: She even wore a special bridal train with her three kids’ names embroidered into it, alongside hers and Shelton’s.
The couple began dating in 2015 after they met as coaches on The Voice.
