The 2026 NHL offseason has had a wild start. After the Carolina Hurricanes won their first Stanley Cup since 2006, the trades — and rumors of more big names on the move — have been unrelenting.

In the midst of all the dealing, the 2026 draft provided NHL homes for 224 players, including No. 1 draft pick Gavin McKenna joining the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Next up is free agency. Below you will find our continuously updated free agency tracker for 2026, including contract details for every player signed (including average annual value in most cases).

33-year-old defenseman Jamie Oleksiak has landed with the Canucks by way of a two-year, $5 million AAV contract.


The Bruins announce a quartet of signings: Goalie Jiri Patera (one year, $850,000), left wing Brian Halonen (two years, $875,000 AAV), defenseman Maxence Guenette (one year, $850,000) and Brendan Gaunce (two years, $875,000 AAV).


Anaheim adds four players for two years: Defensemen Jett Woo and Corey Schueneman as well as wingers James Hamblin and Judd Caulfield.


The Rangers add to their organizational blue-line depth by signing Marc Del Gaizo to a two-year deal.


The Mammoth add a strong on-ice and dressing-room presence in former Isles captain Anders Lee, agreeing to terms on a three-year, $5.4 million AAV pact.


Tampa Bay add a trio on one-year deals: Goaltenders Olivier Rodrigue and Mads Sogaard along with defenseman Michael Callahan.


The Predators add a pair of veteran defenders in Hunter Skinner (one year, $850,000) and Jack Ahcan (two years, $875,000).


Washington continues to build out its depth, inking centers Jonny Brodzinski and Josh Dunne to one-year, $850,000 contracts.


The Senators announce a slew of signings: defenseman Christian Kyrou, centers Ryan Suzuki, Philip Tomasino and Philippe Daoust as well as left wing Sammy Blais.


Edmonton adds another veteran blueliner in the wake of the Darnell Nurse trade, inking Ryan Shea to a five-year, $4 million AAV contract.


A quartet of forwards have joined the Wild: left wing Jagger Joshua (two years, $1.75 million AAV), center Justin Kirkland (one year, $850,000) center Mason Shaw (one year, $850,000) and center Dylan Gambrell (one year, $850,000) have agreed to terms with Minnesota.


Anaheim brings on a veteran option in goal, inking Laurent Brossoit to a one-year contract.


A pair of veterans are returning to the Wild on one-year deals: defenseman Zach Bogosian ($1.25 million) and Nick Foligno ($900,000).


The Avalanche dip back into the well, inking two-year deals with left wing Adam Beckman and center Vinnie Hinostroza.


A pair of defensemen have landed with the Blackhawks: Connor Mackey (two years, $937,500) and Dylan Anhorn (one year, $850,000).


Left wing Noah Gregor has agreed to a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Jets.


Wilmer Skoog is headed to Hockeytown, inking a one-year, $850,000 deal with the Red Wings. He’ll be joined there by Jacob Bryson, who also has signed a one-year, $850,000 deal.


Another pair heading back to Montreal on one-year deals: defenseman Ethan Samson and right wing Sam Poulin.


The Devils have reached one-year, $850,000 deals with center Marc McLaughlin, center Xavier Parent and left wing Riley Tufte.


Towering center Curtis Douglas is joining the Kraken, agreeing to a two-year, $1.25 million AAV contract.


The Maple Leafs continue adding on Wednesday, signing Brandon Duhaime to a two-year, $2.6 million AAV contract.


Former Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner has moved elsewhere in the Metro Division, inking a four-year, $5.75 million AAV contract with the Capitals.

The Islanders add another pair of veterans, inking defenseman Matthew Kessel and right wing Mitchell Chaffee to one-year deals.


The Mammoth add another veteran presence to their forward group, inking Kevin Stenlund to a one-year, $2.75 million contract.


29-year-old forward Jeff Malott will switch sides in the SoCal rivalry, going from the Kings to the Ducks, by way of a three-year, $1.85 million AAV contract.


The Sabres make it official with a trio of forwards: Conor Sheary (one year, $850,000), Trevor Kuntar (two years, $875,000 AAV) and Jason Polin (one year, $850,000).


Cameron Butler — who skated for the Iowa Heartlanders in 2025-26 — is joining the Red Wings by way of a one-year contract.


The Kings’ signing frenzy continues, adding centers Jan Jenik (one year, $850,000) and Lane Pederson (two years, $875,000 AAV).


Defenseman Scott Perunovich finished the 2025-26 season in the Mammoth’s org, but he’ll be headed to California, signing a one-year, $850,000 deal with the Kings.


Veteran backstop Eric Comrie will head West, signing a two-year, $1.15 million AAV pact with the Sharks.


27-year-old goaltender Daniil Tarasov has a new team; the former Panther has joined the Red Wings via a one-year, $2 million deal.


Alexander Petrovic spent the first six and a half seasons with the Panthers, and he’s coming back to South Florida by way of a two-year deal.


The Blues have re-signed forward Dillon Dube to a one-year, $850,000 contract.


The Wild have one of the best goaltending tandems in the NHL, but they elected to add some depth to the system, signing Calvin Pickard to a one-year, $1 million deal.


Cole Schwindt sticks with the Panthers, agreeing to terms on a two-year deal to remain in South Florida.


Defenseman Declan Carlile heads from Tampa Bay to Pittsburgh, signing a two-year, $1.5 million AAV contract with the Penguins.


The Ducks have said goodbye to various veteran defensemen this offseason, but they said hello to Nick Jensen, signing him to a two-year deal.


Goaltender Nico Daws will continue his time with the Devils, agreeing to a two-year, $1.1 million AAV contract.


A pair of veteran defensemen are headed to the nation’s capital; Vincent Desharnais (four years, $4.2 million AAV) and Justin Holl (one year, $900,000) have agreed to contracts with the Capitals.


A coveted middle-six forward around the league, Oliver Bjorkstrand has chosen the Rangers as his next NHL home via a one-year, $4.5 million deal.

Saint John, New Brunswick, native Riley Bezeau is staying with the Blue Jackets by way of a one-year contract.


The Leafs’ spending spree continues, agreeing to a two-year, $2.5 million AAV contract with veteran forward Teddy Blueger.


Defenseman Jordan Harris is sticking with the Bruins, agreeing to a one-year $850,000 extension.


Goaltender Pheonix Copley’s NHL career will head to Ohio next, as the 34-year-old has inked a one-year deal with the Blue Jackets.


The Kings are hanging on to Scott Laughton, coming to terms on a one-year deal with the 32-year-old center.


Two-time Stanley Cup champion Sergei Bobrovsky is headed to the Maple Leafs by way of a three-year, $7 million AAV contract.

Defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok will head north from Texas, inking a one-year, $850,000 deal with the Devils.


The Rangers have entered the free agency chat, inking center Joe Veleno to a one-year, $1.2 million contract.


The Stars announced a trio of signings: goaltender Brandon Halverson (one year), center Artem Shlaine (one year) and right wing Arttu Hyry (two years, $900,000 AAV).


Free agent center Akil Thomas has made his decision, and it’s the Canucks via a one-year contract.


Center Alexander Kerfoot is headed from the Mammoth to the Predators, agreeing to terms on a two-year, $3.5 million AAV contract.


After a three-season absence, defenseman Connor Clifton will once again be a Boston Bruin, agreeing to a two-year, $2.25 million AAV deal.


After a sojourn in southern California with the Ducks, Jacob Trouba has headed north, signing a four-year, $8.25 million AAV deal with the Sharks.

The prodigal defenseman has returned to Vancouver! Luke Schenn has inked a one-year, $2.25 million deal with the Canucks.


The Lightning have added Jeffrey Viel to the mix, signing the veteran forward to a five-year, $2.5 million AAV contract.


With 209 NHL games under his belt, defenseman Noah Juulsen will continue his career with the Avalanche, agreeing to a two-year contract with a $1.1 million AAV.


The Islanders make a pair of signings, adding backup goaltender Vitek Vanecek (one year, $1 million) and forward Matias Maccelli (one year, $2.25 million).


Following stints with the Golden Knights and Devils, bottom-six forward Paul Cotter is heading to the Pacific Northwest, agreeing to a one-year, $2.15 million deal with the Canucks.


Forward Danila Klimovich closed out the past season with the Abbotsford Canucks of the AHL, and he has switched coasts, inking a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Flyers.


After finishing the season with the Penguins, Rhode Island native Noel Acciari is switching sides in the Keystone State rivalry, inking a two-year, $2.8 million AAV with the Flyers.


The goalie dominoes are starting to fall as Stuart Skinner has agreed to a two-year, $3.75 million AAV deal with the Jets.

The Maple Leafs have been busy this offseason with trades and selecting Gavin McKenna with the first overall pick. Their free agency business has also begun, adding Jack Roslovic via a two-year, $4 million AAV deal.

Restricted free agent forward Tyson Foerster is staying in Philly, inking an eight-year, $7.1 million extension.


Restricted free agent forward Sandis Vilmanis is back with the Panthers by way of a two-year contract extension.


Defenseman Dennis Gilbert has agreed to terms on a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Sabres.


A native of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, winger Ross Johnston will continue his NHL career with the Blues, agreeing to a three-year, $2 million AAV deal.


Forward Ilya Mikheyev will take his next NHL shift with the Lightning, agreeing to a four-year, $3.85 million AAV contract with Tampa Bay.

41-year-old agitator Corey Perry is rejoining the Kings, signing a one-year, $1 million contract.


Ryan Lomberg will be joining the Blue Jackets, agreeing to a two-year, $1.3 million AAV deal.


Defenseman Ian Cole is headed to Chicago, agreeing to terms on a one-year, $4 million deal with the Blackhawks.


One of the top forward options available in free agency, Mason Marchment has chosen the Sharks, agreeing to a five-year, $6.75 million AAV deal.

Another Florida Panther will be there for the long haul; winger Eetu Luostarinen has signed an eight-year, $5 million AAV extension.


Goaltender Samuel Ersson‘s negotiating rights were traded twice this offseason — to the Maple Leafs, then the Senators — and he is sticking in Ottawa, agreeing to terms on a two-year, $2.2 million AAV deal.


Forward Cole Smith made it all the way to the Cup Final with the Golden Knights this spring, and he’ll continue his NHL career with the Blackhawks, signing a three-year, $3 million AAV contract.


Restricted free agent Jonatan Berggren did not get a qualifying offer from the Blues, but he has re-signed with them, inking a one-year, $2 million contract.


One of the top options available on the market, Viktor Arvidsson is signing a two-year $5 million AAV contract with the Red Wings.

After trading for RFA forward Mackie Samoskevich‘s negotiating rights, the Kraken have signed him to a three-year, $3.85 million AAV contract.


Needing some center depth after losing Anze Kopitar to retirement, the Kings have signed Erik Haula to a two-year, $3.6 million AAV deal.


Carter Mazur is staying with the Red Wings organization, inking a two-year, $875,000 AAV contract.


Veteran defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk has selected his next NHL home: it’s the Penguins! He’s signed a two-year, $4 million AAV deal.


Calder Trophy finalist Ivan Demidov will not be hitting free agency any time soon. The Canadiens have inked him to an eight-year, $9.13 million AAV extension.


Goaltender Dan Vladar provided consistent netminding for the Flyers this past season, and they will be extending his time with the team beyond the expiration of his current deal. Vladar has agreed to a five-year, $5.5 million AAV contract that begins in 2027-28.

The Radko Gudas Era begins anew for the Panthers. After trading for his negotiating rights, Florida has signed the veteran defenseman to a six-year, $1.5 million AAV deal.


After coming over via trade from the Ducks, defenseman Olen Zellweger has signed a three-year, $3 million AAV contract with the Sabres.


Take a major player off the 2027 free agency big board! Nico Hischier is signing a five-year contract extension with the Devils, with an $11.7 million AAV.

The Senators will remain in the Nick Cousins business, inking the 32-year-old forward to a two-year, $1.59 million AAV deal.


Restricted free agent goaltender Luke Cavallin is sticking with the Bruins, agreeing to terms on a one-year, $850,000 contract.


Acquired as part of a trade that sent the fourth overall pick in the 2026 draft to the Sabres, defenseman Bowen Byram has inked a six-year, $12.5 million AAV extension with the Blackhawks that will kick in beginning in 2027-28.

June 30

Just before the start of free agency, the Golden Knights have agreed to terms on a six-year contract extension ($4 million AAV) with 29-year-old defenseman Jeremy Lauzon.


After trading for A.J. Greer‘s negotiating rights from the Panthers, the Ducks have signed him to a four-year, $4.25 million AAV deal.


Although Bobby Brink did not get a qualifying offer from the Wild, he will be back with Minnesota next season via a one-year, $2.75 million pact.


Defenseman Guillaume Brisebois will be with Vancouver this coming season by way of a one-year, $900,000 two-way contract.


Restricted free agent Arseny Gritsyuk is staying with the Devils, agreeing to terms on a three-year, $3.25 million AAV contract extension.


The Mammoth traded for pending RFA goaltender Sebastian Cossa during the draft, and have now signed him to a two-year, $2 million AAV contract.


The Flyers are remaining in the Carl Grundstrom business, inking the 28-year-old forward to a one-year, $1 million contract.
