Clint Black was a guest on Taste of Country Nights where we chatted about trash talking in the ’90s between country music artists.

Black said “There was a little bit of trash talk back then but it wasn’t as widely known.”

Garth [Brooks] would say things about me like ‘You know, you really wanna hate this guy but you can’t because he’s so nice,'” Black remembers.

Clint Black talked about a more widely heard of rivalry in country music in the ’90s between Travis Tritt and Billy Ray Cyrus, over Cyrus’ then-new hit rendition of “Achy Breaky Heart.”

“I know Tritt kind of laid into Billy Ray a little bit and we all laughed about the Billy Ray thing, we didn’t know what was gonna happen with that phenomenon,” he continued.
