Radney Foster Updates Fans After Sepsis Battle

Radney Foster says he’s on the mend after a serious infection led to sepsis and landed him in the intensive care unit (ICU) earlier this month.

The singer gave fans a health update on social media on Sunday (June 28). He explained that even though he’s on his way back to a clean bill of health, he’ll need to postpone some more shows in the upcoming weeks in order to focus on recovering.

Radney Foster Shares An Update After Sepsis Battle

Foster says he’s rescheduling all shows through July 14, on doctor’s orders.

He confirmed that his shows in the back half of July are still on, and thanked fans for all their well-wishes during his illness.

“Thank you for all the prayers, kind words and support. It has meant the world to me,” Foster wrote. “I can’t wait to see you out there again soon.”

He also suggested that fans can support him during this time by listening to his artist-curated BorderTown Radio station, adding, “I’ve been keeping busy curating, telling stories and digging up old demos.”

What Happened to Radney Foster?

Foster first revealed his illness to fans on July 9. He postponed some shows at that time.

“Randy is recovering from a serious infection that required hospitalization. While he is improving and has been released from the ICU, his doctors have advised him to take time away from the road to focus on his health,” a statement on his social media read.

Who is Radney Foster?

Texas-born singer-songwriter Radney Foster first achieved country music success in the late ’80s as one half of the duo Foster & Lloyd. Their biggest hit, “Crazy Over You,” reached No. 4 on the country charts in 1987.

The group split up to focus on solo careers, and Foster had several hits as a solo artist in the 1990s.

Foster is also a prolific songwriter who has written songs for artists like Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, The Chicks, Sara Evans, Holly Dunn and more.
