A homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed Saturday in Eddy County. A spokesperson with the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a call on Capitan Reef Road in an area known as “the chutes.” They would find a male victim who had suffered at least one gunshot wound.The victim, identified as Nicholas Andres Lucero, was transported to the Carlsbad Medical Center, but life saving measures were unsuccessful.Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office at (575) 887-7551.
