Reba McEntire is continuing her new music rollout with another heartbreak-filled release.
The country icon dropped her new Hurt Like That – EP on Friday (May 22) as part of her ongoing monthly “digital music capsule” series through MCA.
Produced by Dave Cobb, the project blends a brand-new song with some of the most emotional recordings from across McEntire’s legendary career — proving once again that few artists have sung about heartbreak quite like she has.

Lyrics to Reba McEntire’s ‘Hurt Like That’
I can still smell Stetson in the air
See his cowboy boots by the hotel chair
His arm was layin’ on her back
I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that
Well, it cut a canyon through my heart
Like a razor blade but twice as sharp
Hit me like a train comin’ down the track
I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that
It’s a cold, cold rain
It’s a bitter kind of pain
It’ll leave a stain on your past
It’ll haunt your sleep
It’ll cut you bone deep
And it’ll shatter you like glass
I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that
I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that
I’m not sure what killed me more
Was it walking in or out that door
There’s a part of me I can’t get back
I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that
It’s a cold, cold rain
It’s a bitter kind of pain
It’ll leave a stain on your past
It’ll haunt your sleep
It will cut you bone deep
And it’ll shatter you like glass
Oh, I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that
I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that
I can still smell Stetson in the air
See his cowboy boots by the hotel chair
When I laid my ring down by his hat
I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that
No, I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that
