Riley Green is widely considered one of the most eligible bachelors in country music, but the country superstar turned up solo at the 2026 ACM Awards on Sunday (May 17).
In an interview on the red carpet, the “Worst Way” singer joked that he was keeping his options open for one specific person: ACMs host Shania Twain.
“No,” Green responded when Extra TV asked him if he’d brought a date to the awards ceremony.
“Well, Shania Twain’s here, so I’m not bringing a date to this,” he joked.
Of course, Twain is married to businessman Frédéric Thiébaud since 2011. But Green’s admiration for her achievements is genuine.
Green turned more serious as he added, “The level of stardom that she got to … there’s not a lot of larger-than-life figures. Dolly, Reba … Shania’s up there with them. So it’s awesome that she’s here to be a part of this, and kinda re-share some of that with the younger generation that’s watching.”

He also made his acting debut on Marshals in April, and he’s joining the cast of The Voice as a coach for the upcoming Season 30 of the iconic reality television singing competition alongside Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Queen Latifah.
