Man sentenced for stealing thousands worth of copper from his workplace

Date:

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A Rio Rancho man could spend no time behind bars for stealing thousands of dollars worth of copper from his own workplace.

Jack Ming was a facilities manager at Labatt Food Service in Albuquerque when he admitted to ordering double the amount of copper and then reselling it for years. Last month, Ming pleaded guilty to embezzlement. The copper was worth around $400,000, and Ming sold it for less than a fourth of its value. Judge Emeterio Rudolfo gave Ming a conditional discharge if he completed five years of supervised probation and ordered him to pay back part of what he stole from his former employer.
