When Ella Langley returned to the stage to collect her ACM Female Artist of the Year trophy, she was so emotional she couldn’t speak. It was her fifth award of the night.
Langley was visibly struggling to compose herself as she looked out at the crowd. When she finally mustered up words, she told a story that made the whole room understand why the moment was so emotional for her.

The 2026 ACM Awards are undeniably Ella Langley’s night. She won every single category in which she was nominated.

But that’s not exactly why the singer was crying during her acceptance speech. Instead, she was thinking about her fellow female artists, and how they’ve lifted her up during her hardest moments.
In fact, Langley revealed onstage that she’d had one of those hard moments just hours before the show started.
“Today I was having a strange day. I don’t know what it is about awards shows, but I have strange days,” she said, likely referencing the mental health struggles she faced around 2025’s ACM Awards. But this year, she had a powerful source of support.
“I walked right in Lainey [Wilson]‘s room and she hugged me and she started praying for me. And then all of the sudden here comes Miranda Lambert in her little pink hat,” Langley continued.
“I would not be standing up here without the encouragement of so many women,” she said.

Langley also used her time onstage to express gratitude to Jesus, and to her parents for “believing in me and showing up” as well as “being weird” and keeping her “humble.”
But Langley concluded her message by emphasizing the important role her fellow women have played in her life and career.
“Thank you to the women,” she said. “I would not be standing up here without the women. Thank you.”
