Megan Moroney is the most-nominated artist of the 2026 ACM Awards. She even got her very first mention in the coveted Entertainer of the Year category. But she’s not attending the show.
The singer shared that news on social media on Sunday (May 17), hours before the ACMs were set to begin. She revealed that not only is she not in Las Vegas for the show — she’s not even in the country!

She explained her absence in an Instagram Stories slide, over an image of herself and the bride from behind, rocking themed leisure outfits.

“I’m so honored to be nominated tonight at [the ACM Awards] & I’m rooting on all my friends from afar!” Moroney wrote. “I’m out of the country this week on MOH duty to get my bestie married.”
She also gave a shout-out to her fans in Columbus, Ohio, which is the next planned stop for her 2026 Cloud 9 Tour. Moroney is scheduled to play there on May 29.
“I [love] you guys & can’t wait to see y’all in Columbus! Counting down the days!” Moroney added.
What is Megan Moroney Nominated For at the 2026 ACM Awards?
Megan Moroney is nominated in nine categories in total. Those are:
- Entertainer of the Year
- Female Artist of the Year
- Song of the Year (for “Am I Okay?”, as both an artist and songwriter)
- Single of the Year (for “6 Months Later”)
- Music Event of the Year (for “You Had to Be There,” with Kenny Chesney)
- Visual Media of the Year (for “6 Months Later”), as both artist and director (already awarded to Stephen Wilson, Jr. for “Cuckoo”)
- Artist-Songwriter of the Year (already awarded to Ella Langley)
She lost three of those potential nine trophies before the show, as the category winners were announced early.

But six awards are still up for grabs, and could have Moroney’s name on them. Among those is Entertainer of the Year, the biggest award of the night.
