Here Are the Lyrics to Miranda Lambert’s New Song “Crisco”

Date:

Miranda Lambert has been cookin’ up some new music, as she dropped her new single “Crisco” on Friday (May 15).

What Is Miranda Lambert’s Song “Crisco” About?

The song takes its inspiration from the phrase “cookin’ with Crisco,” which is used to describe something that is simple and takes little effort. Lambert cleverly relates the old adage to an easy, breezy relationship.

Playing into the vintage vibe, the country singer adds plenty of 1970s disco sounds to the song. She even references Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s iconic track “Islands in the Stream,” one of the best examples of a country-disco crossover.

Lambert had been teasing the song on social media with imagery of a biscuit topped with rhinestone butter. She’s also used the phrase “You Needa Biscuit” several times, leading fans to speculate that it could be the title of a new album.

Is Miranda Lambert Going Disco?

While the theme of Lambert’s next project has yet to be revealed, she has been dabbling in different sounds as of late. In addition to the disco vibes of “Crisco,” she dipped her toes into a retro melody with “A Song to Sing,” her collaboration featuring Chris Stapleton.

Here Are the Lyrics to Miranda Lambert’s Song “Crisco”

Verse

It’s an old-time recipe, just a pinch of you and me / Whisk it up and toss it on the flame / Like butter on a biscuit, when you kiss me, I just melt away / Melt away, melt away

Verse

Honey, bring the sugar, I can bring the spice / We don’t need that sun to fall, it’s an afternoon delight / Dancin’ ’round this kitchen, listenin’ to our favorite records play / Let ’em play

Chorus

Baby, we’ve been cookin’ with Crisco / Ain’t we mixin’ country and disco? / Stir it around, give it a spin / And it’s a rhinestone world we’re livin’ in / We’re talkin’ southern nights / We could be like islands in the stream, that’s right / Gettin’ in that rhythm with the radio / And away we go / Cookin’ with that Crisco

Verse

Pullin’ on these apron strings like a symphony / You and me, so high in love, just like the seventies / Like Conway and Loretta, maybe even better if we try / You and I

Repeat Chorus

Instrumental Break

Repeat Chorus
