Ornell Fuller, mourned by his family, friends, and members of Midway Fire and EMS, has died.MF&E Chief Fuller began his career as a firefighter, then assistant chief, in 1982 with the East Grand Plains Fire Department.During Ornell’s 43 years as MF&E Chief, the agency grew into an ISO Class 4 fire department and ALS non-transport medical rescue service receiving an average of 350 calls for service each year.A deeply religious man, Chief Fuller was instrumental in establishing the annual Midway Christmas Run, a tradition in which Santa and his helpers handed out gifts and treats to the Midway community on Christmas Eve.Chief Fuller leaves a legacy of service, compassion, and leadership that will be long remembered.
