Joni Lamb, the co-founder of Daystar Television Network, has died. She was 65.
The Christian broadcaster’s death was confirmed by the network following what was described as a recent decline in her health.
Lamb spent decades helping build Daystar into one of the world’s largest Christian television networks.
Daystar Announces Joni Lamb’s Death
“With heavy hearts, we share the news that Joni Lamb graduated to Heaven this morning,” the Daystar Board of Directors said in a statement.
We know that she is in the presence of Jesus, reunited with Marcus, and receiving her reward for a beautiful life lived in surrender to the Lord.
The statement also praised Lamb’s lasting impact on the ministry, adding: “Joni’s love for the Lord and for the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning. We grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”
Health Decline
According to the network, Lamb had been dealing with ongoing health challenges before suffering a back injury that worsened her condition.
Daystar said the injury “compounded those challenges and led to a more serious medical situation than anyone had anticipated.”
The network added that Lamb’s health declined in recent days despite medical care and prayers from supporters around the world. Memorial plans are expected to be announced at a later time.
Building Daystar
Lamb co-founded Daystar Television Network in 1993 alongside her late husband, Marcus Lamb.

Over the years, the Texas-based network grew into one of the largest Christian television broadcasters in the world. Lamb spent nearly 40 years on air and served as president of the network throughout much of its growth.
Daystar also confirmed that an executive leadership plan is already in place and that programming will continue as scheduled.
Family and Legacy
Lamb is survived by her husband Doug, her children Jonathan, Rachel and Rebecca, and their families.
The network said tributes honoring Lamb’s life and legacy are expected to air during upcoming programming.
