
AFR responded to a structure fire on Saturday evening that left one individual injured and transported to a local hospital.Around 7:27 p.m., crews were dispatched to 1200 Dickerson Drive Southeast for reports of a structure fire at a multi-family, multi-story residential structure. While en route, they received reports of potentially trapped occupants.After arriving to the scene, crews reported smoke and flames coming from the second floor of one of the buildings within the apartment complex and declared a working fire. They conducted primary search and fire attack.One individual was injured and rescued from the structure and then transported to the hospital after being treated on scene. A second individual was rescued from the second story and assisted down by ladder. The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes of their arrival. Crews say there were multiple damages to apartments in the 16-unit building. All 16 units were rendered uninhabitable with 13 units occupied.Apartment management is working with the American Red Cross and other resources to assist displaced residents.The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and there were no firefighter injuries.
