One of the longest-standing friendships among country music icons is between Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan.
The two have been friends for decades, trading playful jabs and now sharing the microphone on “Songs About Us,” the title track from Aldean’s 12th album of the same name.
I chatted with Aldean on release day and asked who had the better fashion sense back in the 2000s, when they first became friends. Instead of taking a jab at Bryan, Aldean gave him the edge.
“I dunno … I mean, I don’t know if my fashion sense is all that great, so I’ll give that to Luke,” Aldean said.
But that’s where the compliments stopped and the playful jabs began. Aldean made it clear that Bryan’s fashion sense isn’t exactly top-tier — just better than his.
The “Dirt Road Anthem” singer added, “I mean, he’s not a great dresser either … but …”

Aldean does have an influencer wife who leans heavily into fashion, makeup and wellness, so she likely wouldn’t let him leave the house looking terrible. He may have been downplaying his own style a bit.

Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan met nearly 20 years ago at a Knoxville radio station. They were both there promoting their individual projects and struck up a conversation in the lobby — the rest is history.
Have Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan Ever Recorded a Song Together?
Yes. Their collaborations include a 2024 cover of “Sunday in the South” with Shenandoah, the 2012 hit “The Only Way I Know” with Eric Church, and a 2018 cover of “Straight to Hell” with Darius Rucker.
Their first true duet, “Songs About Us,” was just released and serves as the title track of Aldean’s album, which dropped on April 24.
