Woman, husband, and son charged with sex trafficking
Investigators found about $90,000 in cash buried in their backyard, and about 1,700 condoms.
A woman who was recently indicted by a grand jury is now in custody, held on charges related to human trafficking, prostitution, and racketeering, said a news release from the office of the 2nd Judicial District Attorney. Yufand Bao is believed to be the ringleader of a large sex trafficking operation. Her husband, John Tunney, and son, Guanxiang Wang, were also indicted. An investigation by the New Mexico Organized Crime Commission, assisted by other law enforcement agencies, began in 2025, largely focused on six massage parlors and several homes in Albuquerque. Executing search warrants at Bao’s home in the 9000 block of Lorelei Lane, investigators found about $90,000 in cash buried in the backyard and 1,700 condoms hidden in a shed, the release said. It’s estimated that as many as 20 victims may be connected to the case, the release said.
