Dash cam footage captured the rescue of a two-month-old baby after a police chase ended with a car crashing into a church in Walton, Kentucky.The footage shows Boone County deputies approaching 20-year-old Brenton Howland’s car with guns drawn before one deputy carried the baby to safety. Police in Xenia, Ohio, were preparing to issue an Amber Alert after Howland allegedly forced the baby’s mother out of the car and drove off. Boone County deputies spotted the vehicle shortly after 7 p.m. and initiated two chases before the crash. Investigators said Sergeant Jeff Nagy was injured when Howland sideswiped his cruiser just before the collision. Neighbor Mark Carnahan described the chaotic scene. “I was in the house and heard all these sirens—we always hear a police car going by, but this was different. And so I came to the door, and I heard the explosion because a couple of cars had already gone by and they collided up here. So I looked left, and there was a police parade coming this way, and I looked right, and it was one coming the other direction,” Carnahan said. Authorities confirmed that Sergeant Nagy and the baby are both OK. The child has been reunited with their mother, while Howland remains hospitalized and faces multiple criminal charges in Boone County, Kenton County, and Greene County.Located in Northern Kentucky, Walton is around 21 miles from Cincinnati, Ohio.
