The journey will continue without the driver, who is still at home recovering from his stroke. In his bus update, White also shared the latest on the driver, who still needs prayers as he continues to heal.

How is Drake White’s Bus Driver Doing After Suffering a Stroke Behind the Wheel?

The accident, which occurred on Oct. 23, 2025, took place after bus driver Daveo Wilmont suffered a stroke behind the wheel.

In White’s update, the singer says Wilmont is “still battling at his home in Natchez, Mississippi.”

“Please continue to pray for his recovery,” White added.

A GoFundMe page was established to support Wilmont’s recovery in October. The campaign has raised nearly $16,000 as of Tuesday (April 7.)

Details in the GoFundMe explain that Wilmont’s stroke was a result of a blood clot in his brain, and he spent several days in the intensive care unit (ICU).

In an update from March 30, Wilmont’s wife Leone describes him as a talented musician who is “one of the best drummers I have seen play” and “played drums with some of the greatest artists in the music industry.”

She says that music is crucial to his recovery.

“I just asked him a simple question and he couldn’t remember nothing,” Leone continues. “However, I pulled out this drum pad and every song he hears he remembers them! Wow.”

“His music was not damaged, it was just buried within,” she adds.
