This week’s new heavy metal releases include rhythmic madness, ethereal madness, melodic madness, and more! To the metals…
ALSO! Today, Bandcamp is doing one of their days of giving 100% of what you pay directly to the labels and artists. So if you can get stuff from Bandcamp, please do.
The Armed – The Future Is Here And Everything Needs To Be Destroyed

Genre: Experimental rock/hardcore
Origin: Detroit, Michigan
Label: Sargent House
Buy now on Bandcamp
Starting this week off with controlled chaos mixed with melody. This is a barrage of feedback, electronics, and rage. So it’s an album by The Armed. Lots of collaborators here including but not limited to Kurt Ballou, Troy Van Leeuwen, Justin Meldal-Johnsen.
Car Bomb – Tiles Whisper Dreams

Genre: Mathcore
Origin: Rockville Centre, New York
Label: Solid Grey, LLC
Buy now on Bandcamp
Keeping the chaos going, next up we have the new EP from Car Bomb. These three track hit like a speeding truck. Then there are just so many jumps in rhythm.
Creatvre – Toujours humain

Genre: Avant-garde/progressive metal
Origin: Brittany, France
Label: I, The Voidhanger
Buy now on Bandcamp
Raphaël Fournier has outdone himself once again on his one-man, odd, and evil project. This record sounds like you’re in hell, while in a blender. If you’re into Sigh or Arcturus, get on this.
Fit For A King – Lonely God

Genre: Metalcore
Origin: Tyler, Texas
Label: Solid State
Buy now from Fit For A King
How about some emotional metalcore next? Fit For A King have become a staple in the modern metal movement and this record shows why that is. Catchy, epic, and crushing when needed.
Kayo Dot – Every Rock, Every Half-Truth Under Reason

Genre: Avant-garde/progressive metal
Origin: Middlefield, Connecticut
Label: Prophecy
Buy now on Bandcamp
It’s been an unprecedented four years since the last record from these experimentalists. This one reunited the lineup of their Choirs of the Eye record and manages to feel both familiar and fresh with that band back together. This is a record with lots of suspense and atmosphere.
Moths – Septem

Genre: Progressive metal
Origin: San Juan, Puerto Rico
Label: Self-released
Buy now on Bandcamp
In 2022 Moths dropped the rad Space Force and it was one of my favorites that year. Septem keeps that win streak alive with more proggy and sludgy prog. There aren’t many bands that sound like this band. MAYBE OK Goodnight, but even then not quite.
Oni – Genesis Pt. II

Genre: Alternative metal/metalcore
Origin: Ontario, Canada –
Label: Self-released
Buy now from Oni
On his follow-up to January’s Genesis Pt. I, Jake Oni is keeping guests to a minimum while cranking the djent and melody. He teamed up with Spiritbox bassist Joshua Gilbert to write this one, so if you’re a Box fan, you’ll likely dig this too.
