Drier weather begins moving in Saturday. A few afternoon storms are still likely in the afternoon across northern and northeastern New Mexico along with mountain peaks in southern New Mexico. Temperatures will be even hotter though. Sunday will bring dry weather to almost all of New Mexico as temperatures continue to heat up. Many locations in southern New Mexico will climb into the triple-digits.
Dry and hot weather will stick around into early next week. A stretch of triple-digit heat will continue across southern New Mexico as well. While almost all of New Mexico will stay dry, a pop up storm or two will be possible across some of the mountain peaks. That chance for rain will increase slightly with more isolated afternoon storms starting Wednesday. But the heat will continue with near record heat.
