Los Lunas PD searching for suspect in shooting incident
Officers found that one individual had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the temple area.
On Thursday, Los Lunas PD officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area of Main Street NE and New Mexico Highway 47. Officers were dispatched to the scene and immediately began canvassing the area for victims, witnesses, and evidence. During the investigation, officers found that one individual had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the temple area. The individual, who was transported for medical treatment, is expected to recover. One suspect was taken into custody on felony charges, including tampering with evidence, conspiracy to commit shooting at or from a motor vehicle and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.Los Lunas PD is also searching for Nicholas Gurule, 25, a suspect who police say is armed and dangerous. They say he is 6 feet, 4 inches, 265 pounds, and has brown eyes. Police ask for anyone with information to contact the Valencia Regional Emergency Contact Center non-emergency number at 505-865-9130.
